The Church at Stirling was planted by its founding Pastors Scott and Loretta Stewart in 1999. Pastors Scott and Loretta have enjoyed over 25 years of life changing ministry. They have lived in eight different countries, speak five different languages and have started twelve churches and bible schools. They came to Scotland as missionaries and felt called to plant a church in Stirling. An emphasis of their ministry is to bring the Church back to her first love and to make the Bride ready and they passionately weave Hebraic understanding into the dynamics of God’s Word. The result is a fresh perspective and renewed faith resulting in signs, wonders and miracles! We are grateful for their obedience in coming to plant this work and their legacy lives on with us as we continue to have this emphasis in the Church at Stirling.
Pastors Scott and Loretta have a passion to fulfil the “go ye” of the Bible and it continues to beckon them to travel the world over preaching the incomparable Good News of the Messiah, Jesus, to hungry hearts. They are now the new Pastors of Agape church in Little Rock, Arkansas. To find out more about them at www.scottstewartministries.com.
Pastor Jon has been the pastor of The Church at Stirling since 2010 and the heart of the ministry continues with the same emphasis. The church continues to relate to Pastors Scott and Loretta as our founding pastors (apostles) and this is primarily done through the relationship between Pastor Jon and Pastor Scott maintaining a close relationship.
A HEBRAIC WHAT?
We are passionate about knowing Jesus and understanding and applying the Scriptures to the best of our ability and sometimes you will hear us talking about ‘interpreting Scripture from a Hebraic perspective’. We recognise that it was God’s plan to send His son Jesus into a completely Jewish (Hebraic) culture. Jesus (or Yeshua in Hebrew) was born a Jew, was educated as a Jew and was completely immersed in a Jewish culture. He became a Jewish Rabbi who taught to a mostly Jewish audience in an entirely Jewish way. To best know Him and understand His teaching we work hard to understand Scriptures from their original Hebraic (or Jewish) context, something that many of us in the Church at Stirling have found to be massively faith enriching as we seek to apply Scriptural teaching to our lives!
